Local Auto Glass ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in Schedule 1 of that Act.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, hold, use, and disclose personal information, and how you may access and seek correction of that information. By using our website at localautoglass.com.au ("the Website") or engaging our services, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. What Personal Information We Collect

We may collect and hold the following categories of personal information:

  • Identity and contact information: your name, telephone number, and email address;
  • Vehicle information: vehicle make, model, year of manufacture, and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) where relevant to your service enquiry;
  • Location information: the service address at which you request us to attend;
  • Communications: records of telephone calls, emails, and enquiries you submit to us;
  • Usage data: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited on the Website, and time and date of visits, collected automatically by analytics tools.

We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. We do not collect sensitive information (as defined under the Privacy Act) unless you voluntarily provide it and consent to its collection.

3. How We Collect Personal Information

3.1 Directly from You

When you contact us by telephone, email, or via any contact form on the Website to request a quote, book a service, or make a general enquiry, you provide personal information directly to us.

3.2 Automatically via the Website

When you visit the Website, certain usage data is collected automatically through analytics technologies (see sections 6 and 7 below). This includes data collected via cookies placed on your device. You may disable cookies through your browser settings, however some functionality of the Website may be affected.

4. Purpose of Collection

  • To book, schedule, and deliver windscreen replacement and ADAS calibration services;

  • Advertising platforms: Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook/Instagram Pixel) — see section 7;
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers: Vercel Inc. (website hosting);

5.1 Cross-Border Disclosure (APP 8)

Some of the third parties listed above (including Google LLC, Meta Platforms, Inc., and Vercel Inc.) are located or store data outside of Australia, including in the United States of America. By using the Website, you consent to your personal information being disclosed to overseas recipients. We take reasonable steps to ensure that such recipients handle your personal information in a manner consistent with the APPs, however we are not liable for any failure by an overseas recipient to comply with the APPs.

6. Google Analytics

The Website may use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect and analyse information about how visitors use the Website, including pages viewed, time on site, and traffic sources. This data is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.

Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. By using the Website, you consent to the processing of your data by Google in the manner and for the purposes described in Google's Privacy Policy.

You may opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on or by adjusting your browser's cookie settings.

7. Meta (Facebook) Pixel

The Website may use the Meta Pixel, an analytics and advertising tool provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. The Meta Pixel allows us to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram, and to display targeted advertisements to users who have previously visited the Website (remarketing).

When you visit the Website, the Meta Pixel may collect data including your IP address, browser information, and pages visited. This data is transmitted to and stored by Meta on servers that may be located outside of Australia.

You may opt out of targeted advertising by visiting your Facebook Ad Settings or by using the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out tool.

8. Cookies

The Website may use cookies to enable certain functionality and to support analytics and advertising tools described in sections 6 and 7 above. 10. Access to and Correction of Personal Information

Under APP 12, you have the right to request access to personal information we hold about you. Under APP 13, you have the right to request that we correct personal information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant, or misleading.

To make an access or correction request, please contact us using the details in section 13 below. We will respond to your request within a reasonable time (generally 30 days). We may be required to verify your identity before providing access. In some circumstances, we may be permitted or required to refuse an access or correction request under the Privacy Act, in which case we will provide written reasons for the refusal.

We do not charge a fee for making an access request, however we may charge a reasonable fee to cover the cost of providing access to the information.

11. Privacy Complaints

If you believe we have breached the APPs or otherwise mishandled your personal information, you may lodge a complaint with us using the contact details in section 13 below. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and endeavour to resolve it within 30 days. We will keep you informed of the progress of your complaint.
